The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke to the Russian president Vladimir Putin in a telephone conversation Tuesday, the presidential press service said.
The counterparts discussed the ways to further develop and strengthen the Uzbek-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance ties in the light of the implementation of high-level agreements.
They focused on keeping the growth momentum in bilateral trade, promoting cooperation in priority economic sectors, including joint energy projects, and expanding regional business cooperation and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
They commended the outcomes of the second meeting of the Council of Provinces of Uzbekistan and Russia on October 22 in the Moscow Region,.
The parties emphasized the importance of effectively holding the regular meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Forum scheduled for December 3.
They also exchanged views on current international and regional issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming events.
