Today, the president Mirziyoyev visited the Independence Monument in New Uzbekistan Park, the presidential press service reported. The complex reflects the centuries-long history of the Uzbek people, depicting great scholars and legendary ancestors alongside key milestones in the country's development.
The Humo (Phoenix) bird atop the monument symbolizes the ideals of freedom and goodness, as well as the noble aspirations of the Uzbek nation.
The ceremony, held to mark the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence, was attended by representatives of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Tashkent city public.
