President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Sergio Gor, the U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs, on the sidelines of his visit to Bishkek.
Opening the meeting, Gor offered warm congratulations on the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence and conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Donald Trump.
The two sides discussed ways to further strengthen the U.S.-Uzbekistan strategic partnership and to implement agreements reached at the highest level. They welcomed steady progress in political dialogue, interparliamentary and interregional ties, as well as the continued expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing to advance joint projects and initiatives in priority areas including energy, transport, critical minerals, digital technology, artificial intelligence and agriculture. Particular attention was given to preparing for upcoming engagements under the C5+1 format, as well as the next meeting of the Uzbekistan-U.S. Business and Investment Council.
