New liability has been established for individuals responsible for raising and educating minors in educational institutions. The announcement came from the Justice Ministry's "Legal Information" channel.
Under the law dated September 11, amendments and addenda were made to several regulations.
According to addenda made to the Code on Administrative Liability, liability has now been established for persons responsible for raising and educating minors within educational institutions.
Liability arises when such persons subject a child to physical violence, discrimination, humiliation, or insulting treatment during the upbringing and education process.
Where these actions do not contain elements of a crime or other offenses defined by law, a fine of one to five times the base calculation value (440,000 to 2.2 million soums) will be imposed.
In addition, individuals held administratively liable for offenses involving physical or psychological violence against minors in the course of their teaching duties will be barred from engaging in teaching activity for one year.
This restriction applies to preschool, general secondary, secondary specialized, vocational, and supplementary education organizations for children.
The law also revised procedures governing alimony payments. A parent required to pay alimony for a minor child who is fully supported by a state or non-state institution may no longer be exempted from that obligation.
In addition, "Inson" social service centers will now be involved in cases concerning the reduction of alimony amounts collected from parents — or from one of them — in favor of a child deprived of parental care.
The law takes effect on the date of its official publication.
