Uzbekistan narrowly defeated Jordan, 1:0, in a friendly match at Pakhtakor stadium yesterday evening. The only goal was scored by the Beijing Guoan striker Igor Sergeev 45 minutes into the game.

Vadim Afonin returned to the national squad since his last appearance in 2012. This was Orenburg midfielder’s second friendly for the national side. Uzbekistan will face South Korea four days later in the final Asian qualifying round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Uzbekistan’s starting line-up: Alexander Lobanov, Egor Krimets, Anzur Ismailov, Server Djeparov (Alexander Geinrich, 45'), Odil Akhmedov (Sardor Rashidov, 45'), Igor Sergeev, Davron Hashimov, Vadim Afonin (Aziz Khaydarov, 72'), Otabek Shukurov ( Dzhavohir Sohibov, 65'), Vitaliy Denisov (Stanislav Andreev, 46'), Eldor Shomurodov (Dzhalolidin Masharipov, 59').
