Fabio Cannavaro has announced an expanded 30-man squad for the 2026 World Cup, the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) reported.
Reportedly, the national team will depart for the United States on the morning of May 26 on the Tashkent to New York direct flight.
The final World Cup roster will be limited to 26 players. Consequently, the coaching staff will need to cut four players from the current list before the tournament kicks off.
"On May 26, the Uzbekistan national team will fly to New York for a training camp, and we plan to take 30 players with us to the US," said Ravshan Irmatov, the Vice President of the Football Association, in a mid-May interview with Tribuna.uz. "As you know, the final registration for the 2026 World Cup allows for 26 players. We are bringing four additional players just in case. God forbid anyone gets hurt, but we are taking these four players to the training camps in the US and Canada to protect ourselves against any unexpected mishaps."

The following players who took part in the training camp will not be traveling to the United States: Vladimir Nazarov, Mukhammadrasul Abdumadjidov, Diyor Ortikboev, Kuvondik Ruziev, Nodir Abdurazzokov, Alisher Odilov, Sardor Bakhromov, Husain Norchaev, and Mukhammadkodir Khamraliev.
Additionally, Ibrokhimkhalil Yuldoshev will miss the World Cup due to an injury, while Azizbek Turgunboev, who previously featured for the national team during the World Cup qualifiers, has been left out of the squad.
