Inflation in Uzbekistan rose to 0.7% in September, its highest monthly rate since the beginning of the year, the National Statistics Committee reported.

The September figure was up 0.5 percentage point from August and 0.1 percentage point from September 2025, when inflation stood at 0.6%.

Inflation reached 4.2% in the first nine months of the year, down from 5.1% in the same period of 2025. Annual inflation slowed to 6.4% from 8% a year earlier, but edged up from 6.2% in August.

Food prices rose 1% in September, while non-food prices increased 0.3%. Services became 0.9% more expensive during the month. Over the first nine months, prices for food, non-food goods and services increased 2.9%, 4.6% and 5.6%, respectively.

Excluding fruit and vegetables, monthly inflation was also 0.7%. Inflation on this basis reached 5.6% from the beginning of the year and 6.8% year-on-year.

Surkhandarya province recorded the highest monthly inflation in September at 0.99%, followed by Tashkent at 0.82%. The smallest increases were recorded in Khorezm at 0.64% and Jizzakh province at 0.66%.

Tashkent had the highest annual inflation rate at 7%, followed by Andijan and Fergana provinces at 6.7%. The lowest rate was recorded in Syrdarya province at 5.4%.

The National Statistics Committee published the figures as part of its September consumer price index report.
