The Supreme Court provided information on the case of a judge who was caught red-handedly while receiving $30,000 in Andijan in return of reducing the sentence term issued by lower court.
Reportedly, the Attorney General's proposal to hold the judge of the Khanabad city criminal court, Yu.E., criminally liable under Fraud, Bribery, and to arrest the judge was reviewed and approved.
The Supreme Court is taking all necessary measures to combat corruption in the judiciary and cleanse the system of corrupt personnel, the statement added.
Earlier, the Supreme Council of Judges added that it had agreed to prosecute Yu.E. and that his judicial powers had been terminated. At the same time, the council noted that due to the requirements of investigative secrecy and the presumption of innocence, no further details would be disclosed, and that the reports on this subject, which were being circulated on most sources on social networks, were exaggerated.
