A traffic accident involving a GM Nexia and a Matiz occurred in the Bektemir district of Tashkent, Millar TV channel reported.
On the morning of May 31, the Nexia driver collided with a Matiz at high speed, after which he lost control, drove onto a safety island, hitting a woman and knocking down a tree.
The woman was taken to the Tashkent province branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care.
According to physicians, the patient was diagnosed with a closed craniocerebral injury, concussion, closed fracture of the left femur, first- and second-degree traumatic shock. She was given emergency medical care, after which the woman was placed in the intensive care unit.
On June 3, an operation was performed to restore the leg. The patient's condition is said to be satisfactory, she regained consciousness.
The Investigation team of the Tashkent Police Department is conducting an investigation.
Earlier, in the Sergeli district, a scooter driver died as a result of a collision with a Damas minivan.
9,364 road accidents were recorded in 2024 in Uzbekistan, in which 8,901 people were injured and 2,203 people were killed.
Last year, 1,280 road accidents occurred in Tashkent city. In them, 91 people died and almost 1,200 were injured. MPs ordered the Traffic Safety Department to take steps to sharply reduce mortality. Among the directives there were to erect raised crossings and fences.
