The Season Two of the Initiative Budget will commence on July 15 and last through August 31, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said.
The process will be divided into the following stages:
- call for initiatives - from July 15 to August 3;
- shortlisting - from August 4 to 18;
- campaigning - from August 19 to 21;
- voting - from August 22 to 31.
The winners of the season will be announced on September 1 – on the Independence Day.
Earlier, voting on the Initiative Budget Season One ended on March 20. It collected almost 10.5 million votes for initiatives to repair schools, roads and other facilities.
28,399 initiatives were received in Season One, of which 23,457 passed the selection. In the final, 2,369 projects were declared winners (for comparison: in the previous season - 1,772), which will get funding of total of 3.36 trillion soums.
In addition, at the expense of local budgets, by decision of district (city) councils of people's deputies, 7.5 billion soums were contributed to finance projects that did not pass the main vote. Through which another 33 projects were provided funding.
