The driver of a GM Lacetti model who during a brawl in Fergana hit a person on the side of the road, killing him, is facing the Intentional homicide charge after re-qualification, the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Following the check by the prosecutor's office, the criminal case was re-qualified due to the actions of the accused containing signs of intentional homicide.
Should the man found guilty under this article he could be sentenced to life imprisonment.
The incident occurred on July 10 on Uzbek Ovozi Street in the city. The man F.Z., after arguing with his acquaintance M.A., drove his Lacetti car on him.
Despite the medical treatment provided, M.A. died in hospital. In the video footage circulating on social media, one of the three men was hit by a speeding car from behind, causing him to fall to the ground. After that, the driver got out of the car and tried to attack the victim again, but was stopped by bystanders.
Then, the Fergana province police department reported that a criminal case had been opened against F.Z. under Part 3 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm), and the suspect was detained under Article 221 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
