The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has accepted the invitation of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and will visit Turkmenistan on 4–5 August to attend the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. He will also attend an event dedicated to preparations for the upcoming Centra Asia Summit.
The UN conference will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Area, with the participation of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres, heads of states and governments, and leaders of international and regional organizations.
The conference agenda includes discussions on the ways to enhance transport connectivity, simplifying trade procedures, advancing economic transformation, increasing resilience to climate change and environmental risks, and enhancing international cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The parties are scheduled to adopt the Avaza Political Declaration and a Programme of Action.
As part of his visit, the President of Uzbekistan will also attend a meeting focused on preparations for the seventh Centra Asia Summit and will hold a series of bilateral talks.
