The Embassy of India, Tashkent celebrated the 79th Independence day of India at Chancery premises on August 15, 2025. The ceremony was attended by around 250 guests comprising of members of the Indian community, friends of India and local media.
Ambassador Ms. Smita Pant hoisted the tricolour and read Rashtrapatiji's address to the Nation. She highlighted the positive trajectory of the bilateral relationship and how the leaders of the two countries had remained in touch on several issues referring to their recent telephone conversation held on August 12, 2025.
The Independence day event was followed by a riveting solo performance by Shri Arshad Khan, Tabla Teacher from Lal Bahadur Shastri Centre for Indian Culture. The ceremony concluded with group photos and serving of light refreshment.
