Uzbekistan’s permanent population as of 9:35 am on August 28 reached 38 million, the National Statistics Committee said. Of the total, the male population stands at 19,136,800, while the female population reached 18,863,200, or by 273.6 thousand less than men.
As of January 1, Uzbekistan’s population stood at over 37.5 million, increasing by 2% year-on-year. Last year, the birth rate decreased for the first time since 2017 - by 3.7%. In 2024, there were the lowest number of marriages in the last 10 years.
