Testing of vehicles at Pskent test center will be halted from September 2, 2025, the Technical Regulation Agency said. Testing had commenced in November 2024 with an aim to prevent imports of warrantiless vehicles and reduce the risk of accidents. It turned out then that vehicles that had not passed the approval of technical regulations were imported into the country, and each batch had to be checked separately.

Until 2024, only three dealerships had had permits to sell 15 models. Now there are 21 official foreign dealers, holding compliance certificates for over 100 models.

Due to a sharp increase in the number of official dealers and service centers, as well as the opening of official dealers, testing at the Pskent auto testing ground will cease as of September 2, the agency added.

They underscored that the quality of imported cars remains under constant control. Should violations be detected or complaints are received from buyers, measures will be taken against such models.

The department called on the public to buy cars only from official dealers.
