The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the leaders of more than 20 countries, attended the military parade on Tiananmen Square in Beijing on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II on September 3. Shavkat Mirziyoyev was accompanied by his wife.

The participation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the ceremonial events in Beijing became another confirmation of the consistent foreign policy course of our country aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between peoples, as well as developing a constructive dialogue at the regional and global levels in the sake of peace, sustainable development and prosperity, the presidential press service said in a statement.

In his remarks, the Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of respecting historical memory, preserving peace and ensuring justice in modern conditions, the statement said.

45 units of the People's Liberation Army of China were involved in the parade. The high-end missile systems, tanks, aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles produced by the Chinese defense industry were presented.

The parade has been held in Beijing since 1949, the last grand parade took place on October 1, 2019.

Among the participants in the event were the leaders of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Russia, Turkmenistan, the DPRK, Iran, Vietnam, Egypt and other countries.
