The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sacked all deputy ministers of higher education, science and innovation. The head of state's spokesman Sherzod Asadov announced today.
"Changes are taking place in preschool and school education, programs are working, there are results. However, those in charge of vocational and higher education have not yet fully understood the essence of reforms in the field of education," the president said.
He announced the sacking of the First Deputy Minister Shokhrukh Daliyev and deputies Otabek Makhkamov and Sarvarkhon Buzrukhonov.
The president also fired the director of the Agency for Innovative Development under the ministry, Sharof Radzhabbayev.
The director of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education under the Presidential Administration, Adham Khudaykulov, has moved to another role.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that the ministers of preschool and school education, as well as higher education, science and innovation, their deputies and governors are obliged to switch to “preventive and proactive” methods and implement fundamental changes in all areas of education.
