The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Friday, the presidential press service said.
Reportedly, Shavkat Mirziyoyev strongly condemned the recent missile strikes by Israel on the capital of Qatar, the city of Doha.
He underscored that such unacceptable actions that violate the independence and sovereignty, as well as pose a threat to the security of Qatar, violate the UN Charter, fundamental norms and principles of international law.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that Uzbekistan was opposed to any form of use of force in international relations and steps leading to further escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
The parties discussed the Uzbek-Qatari ties in various areas. Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished fruitful results for the emergency Arab-Islamic summit, convened at the initiative of Qatar.
The Emir of Qatar expressed deep gratitude for the solidarity and support shown, the statement concluded.
