Fabio Cannavaro has been appointed the head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, the Uzbekistan Football Association said today.
The Association has signed a contract with Fabio Cannavaro, a three-time World Cup participant, winner of the 2006 World Cup, one of the best defenders of the recent past, and a well-known coach, the Association added.
He will coach the Uzbekistan team for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Fabio Cannavaro’s coaching staff will include:
— Eugenio Albarella — assistant coach (Japanese national team, Juventus, Udinese and Dinamo Zagreb);
— Troise Francesco — fitness coach (Benevento, Udinese and Dinamo Zagreb);
— Antonio Chimenti — goalkeeper coach (Italian youth teams, Sampdoria and Spal).
