The Director of the National Agency for Promising Projects Dmitry Li hosted a delegation of Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads). During the discussion, the parties discussed opening of Meta’s representative office in Uzbekistan, cooperation in preventing fraud in advertising on the company's platforms, monetization and supporting digital content creators in the country.
The Meta’s delegation comprised the Public Policy Director for South and Central Asia Sarim Aziz, the Public Policy Manager for Central Asia, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and the Maldives Senura Abeywardena, the Head of Government and Social Impact for Central Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan Aurora Li and the Regional Policy Manager for Central Asia and Mongolia Erasil Kalikhan.
The parties pointed to the importance of establishing direct dialogue and exchanging experiences on regulating digital platforms, protecting users and developing a fair monetization system. Special attention was paid to issues of digital security, advertising transparency, promotion of responsible digital behavior.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reached agreement to continue cooperation and study specific areas of cooperation.
