Following the mass poisoning of children in public kindergartens in the Tashkent province, all heads of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service must be sacked. Zoyir Mirzayev, the Tashkent province governor announced this at the 20th session of the Council of People's Deputies in Nurafshan city.
"All chiefs of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service must be fired. Starting from the provincial level, everyone," he stated.
According to the governor, 5-6 billion soums worth of medications were used to treat the affected children.
"God saved us then. If these medications hadn't been available in time, I don't know how it would have ended," Mirzayev said.
He also announced that the number of suspects in the case had reached 11 (previously, seven people had been detained).
"The outsourcing system will be held accountable before the law. Eleven people are currently in custody," the governor added.
According to the press service of the governor’s office, the session heard a report from the governor analyzing the progress on the socio-economic development of the province in 2023-2025 and priority goals for the future.
