At the government meeting today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the rising divorce rate and the plight of children following family break-ups.

According to the presidential spokesman Sherzod Asadov, approximately 32,000 families have broken up in the country year-to-date, with nearly 16,000 parents evading to pay child support. There are also cases of men leaving their families and children with debt obligations.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev added that the negative consequences of early marriages and marriages between close relatives should be of serious concern to governors and mayors, the neighborhood officials, and the entire public.

Furthermore, he pointed to the need to explain to young people that starting a family is not only a personal decision but also a significant responsibility to one's spouse and children.

The president emphasized that in order to prevent financial hardship for the parties, especially children, in the event of divorce, the signing of a prenuptial contracts and its benefits should be promoted.
