Over the past eight years, Uzbekistan has achieved the results for which it would take centuries for other countries, said the founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi energy company ACWA Power Mohammad Abunayyan at the new Tashkent International Airport project launch ceremony Wednesday. The company is part of the Vision Invest group, which is involved in the New Tashkent Airport project.
"It is indeed very difficult for any leader in the world to achieve such tremendous results. I have emphasized this before and I will reiterate it now: I know only two leaders who have been able to implement such major transformations. The first is you (President Shavkat Mirziyoyev – ed.), and the second is Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman," Abunayyan said.
All of Uzbekistan's achievements are the result of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's immense thought and dedicated work, he emphasized.
"You are doing this because you sincerely love your people and your homeland." "I have spoken with the leaders of 24 countries, but I have never met a leader who loves his people as much as you do. That's why the people and the country love you," the chief of the Saudi company said.
"I have met with you 20 times. Before each meeting, I prepare a speech, pondering what to say. But each time, your thoughts, energy, and practical actions surpass ours. You always act quickly, work honestly, and deliver results," he said.
Muhammad Abunayyan underscored that the Uzbek President pays attention to both local and foreign investors, creating equal opportunities for them. He added that Shavkat Mirziyoyev, thanks to his governance and transparency, had left behind "the previous difficult legacy and had created a new history."
"Today, the whole world is watching you, learning from you. A reliable government and a dedicated team are working day and night under your leadership. I've only seen a government working seven days a week, 18-20 hours a day, in Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia," he continued.
He underscored that many people from all over the world want to come to Uzbekistan—as tourists, as friends, and as investors.
He expressed confidence that in the coming years, Uzbekistan would demonstrate its potential to the world, "and the world will see what the new Uzbekistan is capable of."
"I have two mentors: one is Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, and the other is you, Mr. President. I've learned a lot from you. You are my mentor," Muhammad Abunayyan concluded.
The New Tashkent Airport project will be implemented with the participation of Vision Invest (Saudi Arabia), Sojitz Trading House (Japan), and Incheon International Airport Corporation (Republic of Korea). It will be located on 1,310 hectares in the Urtachirchik and Kuyichirchik districts, approximately 7 km east of Yangiyul.
