Chief of the Qiziltepa district emergency department in Navoi province was caught receiving a large bribe, the State Security Service’s press service said today.
The suspect demanded $3,000 for a positive conclusion confirming that the mall met fire safety standards after an application was filed through the Unified Interactive Governmental Services Portal (UIGSP).
The man was caught red-handed receiving the money in his office. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 210 (Bribe-taking) of the Criminal Code, and has been taken in custody.
