Checks have begun at gas stations to prevent selling AI-80 gasoline, which was banned on December 1, the Uzenergoinspektsiya inspectorate reported.

191 samples of various types of gasoline were taken at 90 gas stations between November 26 to December 2. Analysis found that in 23 cases, the gasoline failed to meet the standards, with 306,430 liters of substandard gasoline prevented from being sold.

Year-to-date, a total of 632 facilities have been checked, 210 of which, or one in three, were selling substandard gasoline—preventing the sale of 8,576 million liters.

The inspectorate reported it had imposed penalties for selling fuels and lubricants that had failedto meet technical regulations and resulted in excessive toxic emissions.
