President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at an extraordinary session of the Syrdarya province council of people's deputies ordered to pay the families of the three persons who were killed in the explosion at a restaurant in Gulistan 100 million soums in financial assistance over three days. As reported earlier, 29 people sustained burns and injuries of varying severity, three of whom died in the hospital after a gas cylinder exploded on Tuesday. Two pregnant women were among the injured. Five patients are reportedly in serious condition, and one is in extremely serious condition.
At the directive of the head of state, a team of 10 high-profile doctors, led by the director of the Republican Center for Emergency Medical Care, is providing free medical and psychological care to the victims.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave directives to promptly determine the cause of the incident and ensure that those are responsible are held accountable.
He emphasized that "the tragedy should serve as a major lesson" for the emergency prevention system.
