President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Paraguay Santiago Peña held negotiations at the Kuksaroy residence Thursday.
The two leaders discussed the ways to further strengthen the ties between Uzbekistan and Paraguay.
Warmly welcoming the leader of Paraguay, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the historic significance of this visit, as it is the first visit by a President of a Latin American country to Uzbekistan. He underscored noted that the talks would open a new stage in the development of friendly relations between the two countries.
The counterparts also explored the ways to expand the bilateral ties in the trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, educational, and other areas, focusing on increasing the two-way trade, developing business contacts, and implementing joint projects in agriculture, the food and chemical industries, digitalization, tourism, and sports.
They also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reiterated their readiness to further develop political dialogue and deepen practical cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
