On December 11 at about midnigh in the Bekabad district of Tashkent province, a police officer driving a GM Nexia 3 struck a pedestrian, 43, killing him.

The accident occurred at the 64th kilometer of the Karasu-Buka-Bekabad highway in Korakuyli mahalla.

On December 12, the district prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation rules resulting in death and the Abandonment of another person in danger resulting in death of the Criminal Code.

The body of the deceased has not yet been found. The Prosecutor General's Office noted that the search is ongoing.

As per the court ruling, the 36-year-old police officer was intoxicated. Instead of providing aid, he loaded the man into his car and drove to a field. He then called his wife, who arrived in a GM Matiz.

They loaded the victim into her car, drove to the Farhad Canal, 35 km from the accident site, and dumped the body (the man died en route) in the water.
