Video footage has been circulating on social media showing a GM Cobalt hitting a pedestrian on a pedestrian crossing in Jizzakh city.
Reportedly, the accident occurred on December 7, 2025, at around 19:20 in the city of Jizzakh. Sh. Sh., 25, on his father's car hit M. M., 17, who was crossing the pedestrian crossing. The teen girl was returning home from school at the time.
The pedestrian, who sustained serious injures, was taken to the intensive care unit of the hospital. However, despite the medical assistance provided, she died on December 20.
According to the official statement of the Jizzakh province police department, a criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code, with the driver arrested and investigation underway.
