Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has accepted will land in Tashkent on a state visit to on March 26-27 at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the presidential press service said.
High-level talks and the inaugural meeting of the Supreme Bilateral Council chaired by the two leaders are scheduled during the visit.
The parties will focus on further strengthening Uzbek-Tajik friendship and good-neighborliness, developing strategic partnership and alliance ties.
They are also expected to discuss the ways to expand political dialogue, trade, economic, and interregional cooperation, developing industrial cooperation and transport connectivity, ensuring water and energy security, and continuing cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The visit is scheduled to culminate in launching of joint projects and signing of a package of bilateral accords aimed at developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
