On March 10, 2026, the grant contract between H.E. Mr. HIRATA Kenji, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Director of the Republican Center of Phthisiology and Pulmonology named after S. Sultanov, Mr. KUDAYBERGENOV Kallybek under the project for the “Provision of Medical Equipment for the Republican Center of Phthisiology and Pulmonology named after S. Sultanov” (the total amount is 66 600 USD) within the framework of the Japanese Government’s “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects” was signed.
On this occasion on the 25th of March the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Karakalpakstan held a ceremony of presenting signed grant contract. From Uzbek side, Mr. ASKAROV Akmal, First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and others took part in the ceremony.
Japan attaches great importance to the concept of "Human Security", which contributes to the creation of a society where everyone can live happily and with dignity. Since 1995 within the framework of the program "Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects", has been implemented in Uzbekistan in the field of health, education and agriculture. Including the newly signed project, the number of projects is 428, with the total amount of grants exceeds 28.72 million US dollars.
