Saida Mirziyoyeva announced a historic milestone for Uzbekistan as the country entered the international public equity market: the National Investment Fund of Uzbekistan (UzNIF), together with Franklin Templeton, launched an IPO simultaneously on the London and Tashkent stock exchanges.
The offering became one of the region’s крупнейших financial events in recent years. UzNIF raised $603.6 million, with demand exceeding supply by more than four times. As part of the IPO, major international investors including BlackRock, Franklin Resources, and other global funds agreed to purchase approximately $300 million worth of GDRs.
During her visit to London, Saida Mirziyoyeva also held a series of meetings with key figures of the international financial community, including Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson, London Stock Exchange CEO Julia Hoggett, UK Prime Minister’s Investment Adviser Varun Chandra, and the UK Trade Envoy to Central Asia Lord John Alderdice.

In addition, she met with U.S. President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor. Saida Mirziyoyeva noted that his support during the trading opening ceremony was especially valuable. The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and outlined concrete next steps for future partnership.

Against the backdrop of ongoing economic reforms and growing interest from global investors, Uzbekistan is increasingly strengthening its position as one of Central Asia’s emerging financial and investment hubs.
