A major eco-friendly development project slated for the banks of the Bozsu Canal in Tashkent’s Uchtepa district has been officially presented to the public, the press service of the capital's administration said.

The core philosophy of the blueprint is the absolute preservation of the area's existing ecosystem. The initiative guarantees that all existing trees and shrubs will be left intact, additional saplings will be planted, and neither the local wildlife nor the natural terrain will be disrupted. The administration emphasized that tree cutting is strictly prohibited, with the Ministry of Ecology maintaining rigorous oversight to ensure compliance.

The infrastructure plans feature newly designed pedestrian paths, cycling tracks, children’s playgrounds, sports zones, and designated public seating spaces. Safety barriers, modern lighting networks, and a new footbridge are also set to be constructed. Notably, this pedestrian bridge will seamlessly connect five neighboring communities. The project also incorporates specialized, dedicated fishing spots along the canal.

A key highlight of the initiative is the creation of protected ecological islets specifically engineered to shield wild birds and local fauna. Furthermore, to stimulate water sports, dedicated zones for kayaking and canoeing will be established.

The Mayor of Tashkent announced that ground operations will commence immediately. During the community forum, local activists and residents actively shared feedback, swapping ideas to further refine the environmental blueprint before final deployment.
