In recent years, the illegal turnover of synthetic drugs and potent prescription medications has been rising across the country alongside traditional narcotics. According to a relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, these restricted substances are predominantly smuggled into the country from neighboring states and distributed through illicit, underground channels.

In a joint operation conducted by the State Security Service (SSS), the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and customs authorities, a 50-year-old resident of Fergana, 52, was apprehended. A search of his home revealed 3,580 units of "Regapen"—a potent prescription drug—which he was storing with the intent to distribute. The medications were seized as physical evidence.

In a separate incident along the "Kokand – Tashkent" route, authorities intercepted a Lacetti vehicle driven by a 36-year-old Kokand resident born in 1990. A thorough inspection of the vehicle uncovered 2,520 units of "Regapen" cleverly hidden inside the passenger cabin.

Criminal cases have been initiated for both offenses, and active investigations are currently underway.

Authorities urge fellow countrymen to remain vigilant and report any information regarding the trafficking of narcotics or potent prescription medications by contacting the State Security Service hotline at 1520.
