As of January 1, 2026, the average age of Uzbekistan's population stands at 29.5 years, the Statistics Agency said in a report.
This average fluctuates significantly across different parts of the country. The highest average age was recorded in the capital city of Tashkent at 32.7 years. Other provinces with relatively older demographics include Bukhara (31.1 years), Tashkent province (31 years), Navoiy (30.1 years), and Fergana (30 years).
Conversely, Surkhandarya province boasts the youngest population, with an average age of just 27.4 years. The age breakdown for the remaining provinces is as follows:
- Karakalpakstan: 29.8 years
- Andijan province: 29.5 years
- Khorezm province: 29.5 years
- Namangan province: 29.0 years
- Sirdaryo province: 28.7 years
- Samarkand province: 28.5 years
- Jizzakh province: 28.4 years
- Kashkadarya province: 27.7 years
By the end of 2025, Uzbekistan's total population surpassed 38.236 million people. Out of this total, approximately 17.6 million people are between the ages of 7 and 34, highlighting the country's overwhelmingly young demographic profile.
