The decision was reportedly made in honor of the Uzbekistan national football team’s historic debut match at the World Cup. Tomorrow, the national squad will face Colombia, with the match scheduled to kick off at 07:00 a.m. Tashkent time.
According to Sherzod Asadov, the President decided to provide the public with extra flexibility so they could cheer on the national team from home, alongside their families and loved ones.
"Our President will be watching tomorrow’s match at home in the company of his family and grandchildren. He has directed that the business day for all government organizations on June 18 will begin at 10:00 a.m.," stated the presidential spokesman.
Additionally, Sherzod Asadov conveyed the President's profound gratitude to the public.
The spokesman noted that Tashkent is currently hosting the Tashkent International Investment Forum, which has drawn delegations from 102 countries and nearly 3,000 representatives from international organizations.
According to him, the foreign guests have expressed high praise for the modern transformation of Tashkent and other cities, particularly highlighting the capital’s cleanliness and the exceptional civic hospitality of its citizens.
Sherzod Asadov also referenced recent international analysis ranking Tashkent as the third fastest-growing city in the world, trailing only Shenzhen and Riyadh in development velocity.
On behalf of the President, heartfelt appreciation was extended to municipal workers, drivers, residents, and visitors of the capital for the immense solidarity, professionalism, and civic pride they have demonstrated during the days of the Tashkent Investment Forum.
