Uzbekistan has welcomed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, describing it as a "significant diplomatic breakthrough toward de-escalation and the restoration of regional security and stability amid today's complex international landscape," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"We particularly commend the political will and foresight demonstrated by the leadership of both the United States and Iran at this critical juncture. This agreement lays the groundwork for a long-awaited peaceful resolution that the entire international community has been eagerly anticipating," the ministry emphasized.
The statement noted that Uzbekistan "highly appreciates Pakistan and Qatar's substantial contributions, as well as the efforts of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other regional partners who helped create the necessary conditions to achieve this vital understanding."
Furthermore, Uzbekistan expressed its hope for a constructive atmosphere in upcoming negotiations and their successful implementation.
"We remain convinced that resolving conflicts through diplomatic means—grounded in the principles of international law, mutual respect, and due consideration for the interests of all parties—remains the fundamental prerequisite for ensuring peace and security," the ministry concluded.
