As of April 1, 2026, the number of privately owned motor vehicles in Uzbekistan has surpassed 4.9 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 344,600 vehicles.
According to the National Statistics Committee, there are currently 4,903,100 registered vehicles owned by private individuals across the country.
Passenger cars make up the vast majority of this fleet, totaling 4,552,300 units and accounting for 92.8% of all private vehicles. The remaining portion of the fleet includes 330,300 trucks, 7,500 minibuses, 7,200 special-purpose vehicles, and 5,800 buses.
The net increase of 344,600 vehicles compared to the same period in 2025 highlights a consistently high consumer demand for automobiles in the country.
Experts note that while this surge in vehicle ownership enhances public mobility, it simultaneously intensifies the pressure on urban areas, heightening the urgent need for better traffic management and robust road infrastructure development.
