The third Hyundai Rotem high-speed passenger train manufactured in South Korea has officially arrived in Uzbekistan, according to the press service of the Ministry of Transport.

Temiryulkargo, a subsidiary of Uzbekistan Railways (Oʻzbekiston Temir Yoʻllari), orchestrated the comprehensive logistics and transport of the trainset directly from the manufacturing plant to its final destination in Uzbekistan.

"The train was transported via the South Korea–China–Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan multimodal transport corridor. Throughout the execution of this project, maritime, road, and rail transport capabilities were seamlessly integrated into a single logistics chain," the Ministry of Transport noted.

Hyundai Rotem signed a contract with Uzbekistan Railways in June 2024 to supply and maintain six electric trainsets, totaling 42 carriages. The total value of the project is estimated at €220.03 million.

The South Korean manufacturer dispatched the first trainset to Uzbekistan in December 2025. The delivery of the remaining trains is scheduled to continue through 2026 and 2027.

On May 5, 2026, the inaugural Hyundai Rotem train—christened Jaloliddin Manguberdi—commenced regular service on the Tashkent–Khiva route. The high-speed train covers the 1,022-kilometer journey in 7.5 hours, making intermediate stops in Samarkand, Bukhara, and Urgench.
