Men who fell into an illegally dug pit while searching for gold in the Navoi province have been rescued, and their lives were saved, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported.

At around 4:22 a.m. on July 7, four people went to illegally mine gold in a mountainous area near the village of Quvray, part of Angidon neighborhood in Khatirchi district of Navoi province. Three of them fell into an illegally dug pit at the mining site and ended up buried under the soil.

One member of the group who had stayed outside the pit immediately alerted those nearby and notified the Navoi Provincial Department of Emergency Situations. Before rescuers could reach the site, that companion, along with local residents, managed to pull one of the trapped men out of the pit.

When MES rescue teams arrived, they extracted the remaining two men, who had been buried under the soil. All of the rescued men were taken to a medical facility for treatment.
