The driver and two passengers of a Chevrolet Captiva were killed when their car collided with a truck towing a trailer in the Syrdarya province, the local traffic police department reported.
The crash occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on August 9 in Khavast district, on the M-34 Tashkent-Dushanbe highway. The truck was making a U-turn when it was struck by the Captiva, which was traveling behind it. The car caught fire following the collision.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 266, Part 3(a) of the Criminal Code, which covers traffic safety violations by a vehicle operator resulting in loss of life.
