Development of a new coal mine has begun in the upper part of te Topolong reservoir in Sariosiyo district of Surkhandarya province.

The Topolong coal mine basin is located at 1,450 meters above sea level. 35,000 tons of coal have been mined from the mine to date and is now ready for delivery to consumers.

More than 15 machines have been involved to speed up the coal development, with 1,000-1,200 tons of coal being transported every day. The volume of identified coal reserves so far in the Topolong coal mine is 11 million tons.

The mined product is distributed primarily to households in need social protection. Based on the address list, an additional 20,000 tons of coal will be delivered.

At present, work is being carried out in the Topolong coal mine basin to ensure safety from landslides, clean the coal layer during extraction, and develop new mines.
