At the ongoing EXPO-2017 international exhibition in Astana with the theme Future Energy, Uzbekistan presented a number of futuristic developments that attracted visitors' attention.

Uzbekistan considers building an optical fiber cables manufacturing plant, the Minister for Development of IT and Communications of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov announced at a press conference on Wednesday.

The Uzbek Ministry for IT&C Development and Belarus Hi Tech Park signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The MoU was signed on April 17 in Minsk in the framework of the visit of the Uzbekistan delegation headed by the acting Minister for IT&C Development, Sherzom Shermatov.

On March 28, at the Uzbek Ministry for ICT Development were held talks with a delegation of Microsoft Corporation, who arrived in Tashkent to attend the Microsoft Innovation Day conference.

On February 23, 2017 at the Ministry of ICTs Development were held talks with the senior advisor at Telia, Kjell  Lindströms , who arrived in Uzbekistan as part of the Swedish business community to participate in the Uzbekistan-Sweden Business Forum.

The popular game app Pokemon Go is now available in Uzbekistan, a statement on the game’s official website said.

BlackBerry Limited today confirmed that it will no longer create its own phones, instead choosing to rely on hardware partners like China’s TCL Corporation.
