The US$ 553 million Bukhara refinery modernization project will be launched in 2020, Uzbekistan 24 reported. After project completion, the refinery will have the capacity to process an annual 2.5 million tons of oil and gas condensate, thereby producing 1.2 million tons of Euro 5 standard gasoline, 200 thousand tons of aviation kerosene, 750 thousand tons of diesel fuel and 30 thousand tons fuel oil.

The plant has a processing capacity of 2.5 million tons of oil and gas condensate per year. But, as we reported in September, due to the decrease in hydrocarbon feedstock, the refinery is loaded by 62.2%.

As reported earlier, the Jizzakh refinery project was suspended, with decision made to focus on modernization of the existing plants - the Fergana and Bukhara refineries.
