Acwa Power (Saudi Arabia) has installed 10 meteorological masts out of 18 planned to study wind potential research in Peshku and Gijduvan districts of Bukhara province, where the company will build wind power plants (WPPs) with a total capacity of 1000 MW, the press service of the Ministry of Energy said.

The study of wind potential began in August 2020 and will continue for 12 months.

Special sensors have been installed at an altitude of 100 meters in order to measure wind speed, direction and duration, as well as changing weather conditions.

The US$ 1 billion renewable energy project will be built 100% through direct investment.

On May 4, 2020, at a meeting on improving the energy efficiency of the fuel and energy complex, Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to start a project for the construction of a wind farm under the public-private partnership terms with ACWA Power.
