Law enforcement bodies arrested Bakhtiyor Kudratullayev, 52, aka Bakhti of Tashkent and Bakhti of Yangiabad, the Tashkent city police department said.

He is suspected of committing crimes under Extortion on an especially large scale charge punishable by imprisonment from 10 to 15 years and Illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage and other actions with narcotic drugs, their analogues or psychotropic substances without the purpose of selling on a large scale charges.

Some media outlets reported that the arrest took place on November 29 in his apartment next to the Tashkent’s Grand Mir hotel.

Meanwhile, Dilshod Sharipov, 43, and Anvar Mirzakhanov, who are suspected under Extortion on an especially large scale charge of the Criminal Code, were also arrested.

“These individuals were engaged in making illegal proceeds through threats and the use of force, with investigation underway,” the statement said.

As reported earlier, a crackdown was launched against street gangs and crime groups in Tashkent. Operations are aimed at improving the crime situation in the capital, the capital’s police department added.

The other day, the Tashkent city police department officers arrested Saidaziz Saidaliev, aka Sayidaziz of Medical Town. According to the department, he and several other people were taken into custody as suspects in an extortion case. It is reported that they “kicked out” debts from people for money.
