December 31, 2023 is the last day to replace the old sample driver licenses and technical passports issued after 2015, the Traffic safety department said.

From January 1, 2024, old documents will be declared invalid, and drivers who do not have time to get the new ones will be held accountable in accordance with Article 135 of the Code of Administrative Liability, under the Driving vehicles by persons who do not have the documents charge provided for by the Traffic Rules.

To replace your license, one can contact both traffic police departments throughout the country (addresses and telephone numbers) and governmental service centers of the Ministry of Justice (driver’s licenses only). One needs to have one’s old license and a coupon for it, as well as a passport.

New driver's licenses and technical passports were introduced in Uzbekistan in October 2017. Initially, it was planned to complete the exchange of licenses and technical passports by December 31, 2020. In the spring of 2020, the deadline was extended for another year, then in November 2021 - until the end of 2022, in April 2022 it was extended again - until the end of 2023.
