The State Asset Management Agency announced the approval of the sale of the government stake in Uzbekistan Champagne.

The 51.48% stake in the plant for the production of champagne, sparkling and carbonated wines was put up for sale in July 2021, and then in August 2022.

Five companies showed interest in the asset, and four of them qualified for the next stage. According to SAMA, as a result, Euro Pack LLC offered the highest price among the bidders at 72 billion soums and won the auction.

The buyer shall also undertake to invest $18.5 million in 2024-2025 for the development of the enterprise, including the reconstruction and modernization of production facilities, installation of equipment for production of cognac and oak barrels for their storage. To develop gastronomic tourism, it is planned to organize a restaurant and tasting room on the territory of the plant, a grape plantation in the Parkent district and set up a wine tourism center.

The company positions itself as the only specialized plant for production of champagne, sparkling and carbonated wines (founded in 1942).

Production capacity in 2020 was at 788 thousand deciliters of alcoholic products per year, and capacity load was at 62%.

The main volume of products was sold on the domestic market. Some of the products were exported to India, Korea, and Mongolia.

The company has its own raw material base and also uses imported raw materials from Portugal, Russia, and France.

The total number of employees was more than 200 people.

Revenue in 2020 is 65.6 billion soums, for 2021 - 58.8 billion soums. Net profit increased from 2 billion soums in 2020 to 5.87 billion soums in 2022.

About buyer

Euro Pack was founded in 2012 (registered in May 2014 in Tashkent). It is an industrial diversified company specializing in the production of closures for the wine and vodka industry, with its own capacity in the production of injection molded plastic components.

We have also mastered the direction of decorative finishing (painting and vacuum metallization) of both our own products and customer products.

The owners are Ilkhom Abbasov and Dmitry Vasiliev (50% each).
