Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas will land in Uzbekistan on January 16 on a working visit, the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan said.

During the visit, Schinas will meet with the president Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Deputy PM Jamshid Khojaev and Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.

“I’m starting a tour to all five countries of Central Asia. The visit will take place on the eve of the Europe-Central Asia Investor Forum, which will take place in Brussels on January 29-30, and is evidence of the growing partnership between the EU and the region,” said the Vice-Head of the European Commission.

The last time Margaritis Schinas visited Uzbekistan was in November 2021.

At the end of November, the EU Sanctions Envoy, David O’Sullivan also visited Tashkent.
