As we speak, locusts have been detected in more than 500 thousand hectares in Uzbekistan, the Plant Quarantine and Protection Agency said.
Reportedly, monitoring on 875 thousand 87 hectares detected locusts on 515 thousand 830 hectares, and chemical control measures were conducted on 507 thousand 181 hectares.
The main measures are continuing in Karakalpakstan, Khorezm, Bukhara, Navoi, Syrdarya, Tashkent provinces, chemical treatment is being carried out against the saxaul bush locust.
While, the main foci have been eliminated in the Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Jizzakh, Andijan, Namangan, and Fergana provinces.
The service for combating locusts and mulberry moths is operating 24/7. Chemical control is carried out in the early morning and evening hours, and monitoring is carried out during the day.
